Root Canal Treatment (RCT)
RCT enables you to keep your natural tooth once the nerve (pulp) has become infected or otherwise effected e.g. as a result of an injury. Once the infective nerve and other tooth tissue is removed a filling is placed to restore the tooth back to as close to natural state as possible normal. In many cases a crown is a better long-term alternative to a filling.
Where possible we promote keeping the tooth to maintain the structural integrity of the arch, and smile appearance, however there are alternative options such as extraction followed by bridge, implant or denture.
